Welcome to our upcoming PPIE conference: 20th February 2025

Our PPIE Conference will explore innovative approaches to occupational health research, with a focus on:

  • Empowering Voices: Meaningful inclusion of patients, workers, and public perspectives.
  • Enhancing Research Impact: Co-producing evidence that directly influences policy, workplaces, and wellbeing.
  • Celebrating Collaboration: Showcasing partnerships that lead to practical solutions.

This conference invites all those committed to improving health in workplaces—researchers, public contributors, NHS partners, policymakers, and community groups—to share, learn, and collaborate.

Patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) has been evolving since 2007 when the department of health first introduced the idea. The NIHR describe PPIE in research as ‘research being carried out ‘with’ or ‘by’ members of the public rather than ‘to’, or ‘about’ or ‘for’ them’!
